Residential DStv Installation in Newlands
Newlands is mostly a family suburb, and most of our residential work here is about getting reliable TV into more than one room. The housing stock ranges from compact Victorian cottages near the village to large double-storey homes up the slopes, and each type has its own installation quirks. Older homes often have existing cable runs that need replacing, while newer renovations may have no satellite provision at all. We handle both, and we keep the work tidy because most of these installs happen on homes people care about.
The standard job for a Newlands home that has never had DStv or is starting fresh after a renovation. We mount the dish, align it with a signal meter, run RG6 coaxial cable to the lounge, and set up the decoder. Most of these are finished in two to three hours.
Larger Newlands properties often want the lounge, main bedroom and a garden cottage on separate decoders. We fit a multiswitch at the head-end and run dedicated cable to each point, so picture quality stays consistent instead of dropping on the second and third TVs.
If your picture drops in rain or on windy days, the dish is usually fine and the LNB or a connector is the problem. We test the signal chain, replace failed parts with SABS approved hardware, and reseal the outdoor connections so the fault does not come straight back.
Moving from one Newlands street to another? We strip the dish, decoder and cabling from the old property, patch the mounting points, and reinstall at the new address. It is almost always cheaper than buying new hardware, and we can usually do both ends within the same week.
- One visit for most jobs because we carry LNBs, F-connectors and RG6 cable on the van.
- Upfront pricing before we drill, with a 12-month workmanship warranty on the install.
- Cable runs clipped and sealed properly, so your roof and walls stay weather-tight.
